The Selangor U21 team made it through to the Semi-Finals of the Piala Presiden 2022 after defeating Sabah FC in the Quarter-Final stage with an aggregate victory of 4-1 recently.

Prior to the Quarter Finals, the squad managed by Shaiful Nizam, has managed to steer the team into second place in Group B with 25 points accumulated from seven wins, four draws and one loss.

According to Shaiful Nizam, Head Coach of Selangor U21, one major factor contributing to the team's success so far has been the promise they made. 

"My players have given their best in every match. Their teamwork and discipline on and off the field helped the team to be at this level.

Since the passing of the late Husni Idrus, a former key player of Selangor U21 who left us in May, all the players promised to continue to fight for him until the final whistle. The comradeship spirit they showed has been very meaningful," he said.

Before concluding, Shaiful Nizam shared some words of encouragement to his players, "I want them all to continue working hard to ensure that they can qualify for the final!"

Selangor U21 will go against JDT III in the Semi-Finals of the Piala Presiden 2022 on the 8th and 15th of August.
